Love confectionery

It's difficult to find an old school bakery in Singapore after all the cafe scene. So i manage to walk past this school and love how old school it is. The uncle that serve me (probably also the one baking all this cakes) was about 70 years old (??). The first time i visited this shop i bought one whole sponge cake which only cost $5. I was shocked by the price. So i went home and tried it, it was so good!! The cake was very light and fluffy!!! I can't get over how soft the cake is! I alway tell my friends how i wish uncle will be my shifu! Buying the cake also depends on your luck, the cake are mostly sold out in the day. So one day i decided to go there after work and i was lucky enough that they still have some cream cake left. So i randomly pick some. The uncle was very nice to arrange nicely for me (see picture below). There's chocolate, peanut and rainbow sprinkles. What i love about the cake is how light and fluffy it is and also the sweetest is just right!

This shop is definitely a gem. Hurry! Go get your cakes fix!

Lai Heng Handmade Teochew Kueh

Came across this Teochew Kueh at Yuhua Village Market. As a big fan of soon kueh i will not give this a miss! All the Teochew Kueh was handmade on the spot. They sell 4 different kind of kuey and you can choose it either to be steam or fry (煎).  Order 2 Soon Kueh (1 steam, 1 fry)and 1 Fry Glutinous Rice Cake. If you order fry kuehs they get it fresh and hot from the stove. Where as the steam one it's quite cold.

So anyway, I love love love the fry Soon Kuey! It's hot and crispy! This is really a must try if you ever go Yuhua Village Market to eat!

I'm a super duper big fan of truffles and when i saw this black truffle chips i was like "I MUST TRY IT!"

Went to a few cold storage and it was totally out of stock! Finally found this near my house! The cold storage staffs even try to hide it!

I was really excited to try it! Went home and open up the packet of chip! It's so delicious!!!! The chips use coarse salt and some parts are really salty but i love it! The truffle taste is really there! The first bite and i taste truffle! It could be slightly expensive, it cost $6.95. Heard that Jason's Market sell it at $7 plus. 

What are you waiting for! Faster run to your nearest cold storage and get one!

Hob Nob Cafe Bar.

Hob Nob Cafe Bar is a well hidden jem in Far East Shopping Centre. Singaporeans don't go there often because there's basically nothing in there. Well, what bring me there you ask? My partner was the one that brought me there. This is the second time I visit this place and it's just wonderful.  This place is really small but it's cosy. It has an open concept kitchen to let you see how your food is being prepare.

Shiitake mushroom soup ($6.80).

It taste kind of blend at first but you can just add salt to suit your taste bud. The garlic bread is soft. Dip it in the soup and it's a perfect match! Not kidding!

Spicy Wings, mid joint ($10.80)

This is absurdly yummy. We all know how messy it can get when it comes to eating chicken wing. Hob Nob makes it easier for you! They separate the bones and the meat. All you have to do is just grab the bone and eat it! It's good as a bar food if you drink. The sweet chili they serve goes really well with the wings!

Chicken Cutlet ($11.80)

The chicken cutlet was served golden brown. It's really really really crispy and very tender. Some shop out there serve dry chicken cutlet (if you know what i mean) It comes with a side which you can choose between potato or rice and you could also choose either garlic or mushroom sauce to go with it. 

It really crispy! I can basically hear the crunch sound when my partner eats it!

Spaghetti Carbonara ($14.80)

It will be a really good dish if you like capsicum. Not a fan of capsicum so this is not really my type of carbonara. The carbonara is cook with chicken chucks, bacons bit and mushroom. The cream sauce is not too heavy. If you like capsicum you will like this.

Another must try is their ice baileys! (Which i didn't take any photo)
